Unfortunately for Gibson, these percussive, clucky, out-of-phase tones are some of the most loved (and recorded) in history. In addition to this, the signature out-of-phase positions 2 and 4 on a Fender Stratocaster are even further out of the Gibson Les Paul’s reach.
